Internal Communications Co-op/ Internship

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking an Internal Communications co-op student/intern for the Fall 2025 (September to December) work term to provide communications, content production, and events support for our employees.

The Internal Communications co-op student/intern will work within our Corporate & Investor Relations department. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the development and implementation of communications strategies and corporate events and sharpen your writing skills to help tell the story of BCI to employees across our global offices.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Internal communications are important for any corporation to build a strong culture, support employee engagement and experience, and ensure a clear, consistent narrative. The Internal Communications team aims to build a sense of pride and commitment among BCI staff by sharing compelling, informative, and succinct strategic and operational updates.

The group’s primary focus is the corporation’s communications channels, one of these channels is the employee intranet, which houses reference materials and daily news. They plan and produce strategic digital content, including articles and video, in various formats for BCI’s growing global staff base.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- You will be provided with real work experience and will actively contribute to the team’s responsibilities, both independently and working alongside other members of the team.-
- Contribute to the development and execution of our internal communication planning- Plan, support and facilitate employee events across the organization- Collect and analyze engagement analytics for content and events- Provide proofreading or editing support for documents and video, as needed- Ad-hoc digital and channel projects and tasks as assigned by the team

REQUIRED SKILLS- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively- Has an interest in corporate communications, commitment to producing high-quality work, and eagerness to learn- Has strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail- Is technologically savvy, with experience in Adobe Creative Suite being preferred- Able to think creatively and critically to effectively communicate complex topics in a simple but compelling way- Has effective time management skills and is able to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality

THE DETAILS- Work term: Fall 2025 (September to December)- Department: Corporate & Investor Relations- Office Location: 750 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, BC- Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island- All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home.
