Location: North America, Canada, Edmonton- Ref: JOHNCRANENA01798- Division: John Crane- Job Function: Operations**Job Description**:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receives, identifies, disassembles, cleans, and inspects parts and materials returned by customers.
- Performs simple operations using shop equipment (polishing lathe, air compressor, sandblaster, cleaning tanks, lapping machines and power tools).
- Refers to shop drawings to understand the function of each part of the seal and prepares the part accordingly.
- Follows all written special instructions and promptly notifies the order desk of any issues with, or rejections of parts.
- Verifies part specifications and performs final inspection of parts with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, sleeve mandrels, etc.
- Operates the Swisher Grinder and lapping tables to work on seal faces to meet technical specifications.
- Maintains and repairs shop machinery.
- Remains aware of safety practices and works in a safe fashion.
- Ensures that all parts are cleaned and polished to a high level of quality before forwarding to the next stages of repair.
- Performs other tasks as required.

The Individual
**Education/Training**:
- High School Diploma
- Prior assembly experience or equivalent
**Knowledge/Skills**:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic mechanical skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Good attention to detail
