**Social Worker (Casual)**

**Hourly Rate of Pay - $47.24**

**Temporary Term position**

**35 hours per week**

**On-call as needed basis working up to 35 hours per week once term is completed**

Are you an energetic and dedicated professional ready to make a positive impact on students' lives? Join our dynamic team as we seek a Casual Social Worker who is passionate about fostering student well-being and success.

As a Casual Social Worker, you will have the opportunity to work temporary full-time hours, stepping in for staff members during short-term absences. You will contribute your expertise to ensure continuous support for our students by providing direct social work services to students in both Elementary and Secondary schools or alternate programs. Collaborate with a team of school and system based professionals in an educational environment committed to delivering the highest standards of service.

**Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements**
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (M.S.W.)
- Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (R.S.W.)
- Minimum 5 years related experience in a community or educational setting is an asset.

In addition, the successful applicant must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the following:

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills;
- Consultation with schools on behavioural managment management, social-emotional issues, social skills development, and anger management to enhance academic success for students;
- Mediation, advocacy and problem-solving with Principals and families concerning students with mental health issues;
- Supporting students during crisis/tragic events;
- Assessing safety risk and collaboratively working with the student, family and school to develop support plans
- Offering immediate accessible professional counseling services to high-needs students and/or their families in the school;
- Liaising with community agencies for effective responses to students and families;
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Providing professional development opportunities, as directed; and
- Carrying out other professional duties as assigned.
