Scada Technical Expert

1. Summary

The Technical Expert (SCADA Designer-Programmer), in addition to performing tasks related to the SCADA Designer-Programmer position, acts as a technical leader on the team. He plays an active role in defining technical standards and methods in his field of expertise. He maintains his knowledge of the latest technologies and passes on his acquired knowledge to his colleagues. He also participates in business development efforts.

2. Roles and responsibilities

The Technical Expert (SCADA Designer-Programmer) has the following responsibilities:
Project
- Participates in Brainstorming activities to solve complex technical problems;
- Participates in project meetings and meetings requiring his/her technical skills;
- Coach and advise colleagues in his/her field of expertise;
- Participates in the development of business logic;
- SCADA software programming (GE suite, Wonderware, Ignation, Factorytalk, etc.);
- Technical participation in projects;
- Program testing prior to customer deployment;
- Deployment of programs at customer site;
- Training of customer operators or technicians;
- Integration with other systems using different middleware (ERP, MES, etc.);
- Drafting of technical documentation;
Business Development
- Assists business development activities by offering technological solutions during the project

evaluation and estimation process;
- Participates in the preparation of the service offer with the account manager or project

Project Manager;
- Participates in corporate events related to his/her field of expertise (show, training,

etc.).

Internal coordination
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies, standards and methods

associated with his/her area of expertise;
- Contributes to the implementation of technical standards and methods in his/her field of expertise.

3. Qualifications

The position requires the following qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering;
- A minimum of 10 years experience in his/her field of expertise;
- Thorough knowledge of the conventions, standards and regulations governing its field of expertise

- Excellent knowledge of French and English.
