**POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**

Under the general direction of the Manager of Physician Services, Billing, the incumbent is responsible for performing duties of the billing process such as coding and processing data as per standards and procedures, submitting claims to Manitoba Health and other appropriate paying agencies, in addition to reconciling and maintaining accounts receivable. The incumbent is also responsible for the general administration of billing processes to ensure the effective and efficient provision of billing services for the Department of Surgery.

**Responsibilities**
- Obtains billing information from physicians and reviews for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures completeness of third-party billing
- Prepares weekly submission to Manitoba Health and prepares invoices
- Reconciles Manitoba Health remittance
- Performs other related duties not exceeding skills or abilities.

**Qualifications**
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Office, Medical Secretarial/Administrative Program or Medical Terminology course
- Minimum 2 years directly related experience in clinic billing
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/EMR/EPR/Accuro Systems
- Medical billing and International classification of diseases (ICD) coding is an asset
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Must be very comfortable with technology and navigation of multiple programs simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional with a friendly and supportive approach
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, strong planning, and prioritizing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $23.78 per hour
