Day Program Employee (Support Services)

Full time - 70- Hours Bi
- weekly

Desired Qualifications

Inclined to work with people with intellectual disabilities

Positive attitude and team player

Must regard participants and co-workers with respect and dignity

Must adhere to the Agency Guide to the Vulnerable Persons Act

Must obtain a successful completion of Criminal Record & Child Abuse Registry Checks

Communication in English, both written and verbal

Good knowledge of French an asset

Emergency First Aid

Must have valid class 5 Driver’s License

Knowledge in Feeding/ feeding tube, Toileting, Wheelchair lift/Hoyer lift, Transferring would be an asset

Willing to work in all departments of the day program when needed (Woodworking/Recycling/Packaging/Sewing)

Duties

Provide support on a 1 on 1 basis or small group of individuals with intellectual disabilities

Help in the use of appropriate supports & resources needed for communication (reading/writing/use of communication devices) including proper use of the equipment

Ensure Health & Safety of individuals

Provide physical support in personal care & daily living skills (including toileting/feeding/attending to personal needs)

Understanding of the need to prioritize work/contracts, and the personal goals and needs of the participants

Must be able to multitask and assist with other roles/jobs as needed

Report any work or participant related incidents to the lead hand or manager

Abide by the WSHA safety regulations

Start Date: ASAP

**Salary**: Wages start at 19.00$/hr.
