Day Program Employee (Support Services)

Full time - 70-80 Hours Bi
- weekly

**Desired Qualifications**
- Inclined to work with people with intellectual disabilities
- Positive attitude and team player
- Must regard participants and co-workers with respect and dignity
- Must adhere to the Agency Guide to the Vulnerable Persons Act
- Must obtain a successful completion of Criminal Record & Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Communication in English, both written and verbal
- Good knowledge of French an asset
- Emergency First Aid
- Must have valid class 5 Driver’s License
- Knowledge in Feeding/ feeding tube, Toileting, Wheelchair lift/Hoyer lift, Transferring would be an asset
- Willing to work in all departments of the day program when needed (Woodworking/Recycling/Packaging/Sewing)

**Duties**
- Provide support on a 1 on 1 basis or small group of individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Help in the use of appropriate supports & resources needed for communication (reading/writing/use of communication devices) including proper use of the equipment
- Ensure Health & Safety of individuals
- Provide physical support in personal care & daily living skills (including toileting/feeding/attending to personal needs)
- Understanding of the need to prioritize work/contracts, and the personal goals and needs of the participants
- Must be able to multitask and assist with other roles/jobs as needed
- Report any work or participant related incidents to the lead hand or manager
- Abide by the WSHA safety regulations

Start Date: November 2024

**Salary**: Wages start at 19.00$/hr.
