General Laborer

TBL Construction Ltd. is a road builder located in Red Deer, Alberta. Established in 1998, the company currently employs up to 60 employees and sub-contractors during the Alberta road building season. We work with our employees to ensure their personal satisfaction and comfort while "on the road" with us. **Requirements**: - High-School Diploma - Class 5 Drivers Licence **Job Duties**: - Read and understand site specific instructions - Review the work site on a daily basis and consult with Supervisor to understand work being conducted, and any potential hazards. - Set up, re position and dismantle traffic control signage. - Protect workers and the public by keeping work space free of traffic, and warning oncoming traffic of potential hazards. - Communicate effectively with other traffic control workers using established signals and radio equipment to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and minimize confusion. - Maintain alertness at all times. - Assist truck in accessing and exiting work sites and directing them where to dump loads. - Assist with measuring work area for calculating quantities - Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Company Safety Policy. - Other duties as assigned. - Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis. - Must comply with Drug, Alcohol, and Fitness testing requirements. - Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset. - Ability to work overtime as required - Through knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment and municipal road building industry - Prior experience and knowledge of road building process will be an asset - Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure - High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions - Ability to work in varying weather conditions - Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision - Must be able to work away from home for extended periods of time, throughout Alberta. **WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?** **Work is throughout Alberta.
