We are looking for a Banquet Server to join our team
The **Banquet** **Server **is part of the **Stanley Park Pavilion** banquet team responsible for guest and food service for the banquet area and patio. Main duties include set-up and tear-down, a la carte, buffet dinner and wine service, cleanliness and organization of dining room, clearing, proper food handling procedures, following opening and closing procedures and providing a seamless guest experience.

**What you'll do**:

- Greet Guests and contribute to a positive experience by connecting with our Guests, offering excellent product knowledge, beverage options & pairings, as well as providing local area knowledge,
- Event set-up and tear-down, including lifting and setting up of banquet dinner tables, buffet tables and chairs
- Ceremony set-up and tear-down of white folding chairs
- Set-up of side lawn events requiring transportation of equipment and food & beverage
- Table settings including, napkin folding, polishing flatware and glassware setup.
- Following appropriate procedure of serving food & beverage.
- Maintain strong communication & relationships with all the Capilano Group departments,
- Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook,
- Maintain a positive, team oriented working environment,
- Promote a safe work environment including food safety,
- Food safety certification is an asset.
- Clean floors, walls, counters, windows in dining room and service areas,
- Polish glassware and cutlery,
- Recycle bottles and waste in correct bins
- Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guests’ health and safety,
- Know and follow all Capilano’s health and safety policies and procedures,
- Use protective clothing, devices and equipment provided and find out what protective equipment is required for each task,

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum one year prior serving or hosting experience,
- Must have current **Serving It Right certification,**:

- Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat personality,
- Previous experience in the food service industry is considered an asset,
- Excellent organizations skills,
- Efficient multi-tasking and time management skills,
- Previous experience with cashier and/or POS considered an asset.
- Professionally groomed appearance.

**Working Conditions**:

- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, late nights 1am. (2am and 3am on occasion) to meet the needs of the business.
- Required to be on their feet for **extended** periods of time,
- ** Required to lift and carry up to 25lbs (including chairs, tables, etc.)**:

- Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool.
