**Impact Public Affairs is seeking a Public Affairs Intern to join our team**
Founded in 1997, Impact Public Affairs is a multi-award winning full-service government relations and communications firm with offices across Canada. No other public affairs firm has the depth of experience and track record of success in ensuring that our strategies allow organizations to deliver effective messages to government officials, the public, and key stakeholders.
- Supporting Impact’s consultants with client work in a variety of different industries;
- Support client files independently;
- Take on key aspects of government relations campaigns including direct engagement with Parliamentarians and officials;
- Preparing written and oral communications for client events, such as receptions and lobby days;
- Managing logistics for various aspects of high-profile or media-related events at Queen’s Park and Parliament Hill;
- Liaising with media and government officials through written and verbal communication;
- Leading traditional media and social media campaigns;
- Creating communications pieces such as media advisories and press releases.
**Successful applicants must meet the following criteria**:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field;
- Possess strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal);
- Have a keen interest and knowledge of Canadian politics and the media;
- Demonstrates initiative, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and objectives;
- Possesses superior attention to detail;
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a team setting;
- Available to work occasionally outside normal working hours when required;
- Bilingual (English & French) is an asset.
