**Manager, Costing and Pricing**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Pricing Strategy Development**:

- Analyze product costs, manufacturing costs, distribution costs, and other related business expenses.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company objectives and market conditions.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure cohesive pricing strategies.
- Verification that orders received from customers contain approved prices.

**Market and Competitor Analysis**:

- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and industry developments.
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand market positioning and identify opportunities for pricing adjustments.
- Provide regular reports on market conditions and competitor activities.

**Cost Analysis**:

- Conduct detailed analysis of product costs, including materials, labor, overhead, freight, duties and other expenses. Identify cost drivers and variations to understand cost trends and implications.
- Calculate and maintain accurate product/service costs using established methodologies and costing standards. Ensure cost data integrity in ERP systems or other databases.
- Perform variance analysis to compare actual costs to standard costs or budgets. Investigate and explain variances, highlighting areas for improvement or corrective actions.
- Final signoff on FOB costs before any purchase order is transmitted to vendor.

**Pricing Implementation and Management**:

- Set pricing for new and existing products based on thorough analysis.
- Ensure pricing is accurately reflected across all sales channels and internal systems.
- Track price changes with all channels to maintain an up-to-date database of all published pricing.
- Update and maintain standard wholesale price lists for Canadian and USA markets.

**Analysis & Reporting**:

- Analyze product/service profitability by considering costs and revenue generated. Provide recommendations to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports on cost analysis findings, including cost trends, cost-saving initiatives, and profitability metrics.
- Review wire payments to vendors to ensure match with purchase orders and costing matrix.
- Communicate findings to management effectively.

**Cross-functional Collaboration**:

- Work with product development teams to understand product features and benefits.
- Partner with the sales team to provide pricing support and address pricing-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional pricing strategies.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in cost accounting, product pricing/costing, or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite is preferred).
- Housewares industry experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex cost information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of international trade, including import and export processes.
- Knowledge of market research and data analysis techniques.
