Distribution Manager

The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Distribution Center. This is a great opportunity for a self-directed individual that has the ability to direct, delegate and handle multiple tasks and possess strong practical, analytical, and technical skills as well as the ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner. The Distribution Manager will work collaboratively with the Global Director of Distribution & Fulfillment to develop and attain procedures and policies that will ensure an efficient and cohesive distribution environment while achieving effective business decisions that meet all corporate initiatives and objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage daily distribution center operations to include receiving, shipping, inventory control and the Value-Added Service (VAS) area.
- Drive continuous improvements to reduce operating costs while maximizing quality, efficiency, safety, and favorable ROI.
- Shape and develop departmental strategies to help identify opportunities and potential threats to each department while ensuring that proper reporting structures exist.
- Set performance goals tailored to each department that are aggressive and meet the short-term and long-term objectives of the organization.

**Education and Experience**:

- University degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field of experience
- Minimum of 7 years in Manufacturing or Distribution experience. Including 5 years of experience at a management level or higher in a distribution center.
- Trained in forklift operation and in possession of a valid forklift licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience and knowledge of WMS, TMS and operational IT Technology and infrastructure
- Word experience managing Unions would be considered an asset

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluent in both French and English
- ISO Experience, knowledge of CNESST regulations, familiarity in managing a unionized environment an asset.
- Must have sound judgement, reasonability, effective organizational administrative skills and maintain a high attention to detail.
- Solid leadership skills
- Experience and knowledge developing and maintaining workplace safety programs.
- Willing to work flexible hours when necessary to support the business requirements.
- Working knowledge of all hourly labor laws.
