**We are looking for a conscientious, motivated, self
- starter who take pride in their work.**

For this **40 hours per week** position, we are looking for a reliable individual who will be responsible for the transportation of various types of hazardous waste materials on site and locally, although the position may require the odd overnight trip. As a Class 1 Driver you will be responsible for ensuring the safe securement and transportation of all supplies, materials, and equipment as required per business needs. This includes:

- Operate transportation equipment (straight or articulated trucks) to pick-up and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials and supplies
- Accurately and legibly complete and submit daily vehicle inspections, trip reports and shipping paperwork (including but not limited to manifest and bills of lading)
- Assist operations staff with labour duties while onsite or at home base when needed - ability to lift heavy objects up to 45 kg.

In addition, a portion of your day will involve providing support to the Operations Manager to ensure effective, efficient, and safe operation of the local fleet. This may include:

- Planning and scheduling transportation vehicle repairs, preventative maintenance and annual inspections and maintaining repair and maintenance records
- Coordinating roadside breakdown repairs
- Preparation of purchase orders and verification of invoices associated with fleet maintenance
- Obtaining trip and oversize permits
- Reporting fleet related concerns to management and promoting continuous improvement

This position is 40 hours per week, year-round work, and paid hourly, with overtime after 44 hours. We offer industry specific training, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

**Qualifications**:

- Class 1 license and clear 5-year commercial driver’s abstract is **required**.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Display and maintain a strong and positive work ethic.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience required
- Waste management industry experience an asset
- Tanker truck experience is an asset
- Hazardous waste management industry experience is an asset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
