**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:
- Conducts investigations of a highly confidential nature regarding potential thefts, including
situations with employee/ contractor involvement and/or stolen BC Hydro assets, throughout BC.
- Ensures the protection of security sensitive information and plans and, where thefts are
confirmed, provides evidence to support criminal complaints and civil litigation.
- Responds to high profile physical and employee security incidents, as required.
- Develops, writes and recommends standards, methodologies, procedures and guidelines for
minimizing security risk.
- Builds and maintains relationships within BC Hydro in areas such as Human Resources,
Employee Relations, Field Operations, etc.
- Builds and maintains relationships with law enforcement and safety officials across BC.
- Creates, implements and manages security investigations and operations.
- Provides consulting services to management on a variety of theft issues and problems.
- May also direct and conduct security surveys and ensure adherence to standard procedures.
**Qualifications**:

- A degree or post graduate degree in security related discipline.
- 8-10 years progressively more responsible security investigation experience, preferably in a
- corporate environment in the Electrical Utility industry or a minimum of 12 years police experience
- in major crime or complicated investigations.- Proven expertise in the investigation of criminal offences and security breaches, interviewing of
witnesses, gathering of evidence and writing of reports to support court proceedings (criminal,
- civil).- Knowledge and experience in protection of critical infrastructure assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with groups
and individuals at all levels of the Corporation.- Strong relationship management as well as proven ability to effectively collaborate with and
influence stakeholders, both internal and external.- Well established relationships within law enforcement.
- Experience in designing and implementing security operations and field investigations.
- Proven ability to work autonomously with little direction and be an effective member of a team, in
a high stress, and fast-paced working conditions.- Be able to obtain, Government of Canada Security Clearance, minimum Secret Level II.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
- Please note a condition of employment is a valid Class 5 Driver's license is held and maintained
in good standing.
- Willingness to travel to support work-related tasks.

Flexible work model role definitions

Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.
IBEW/Field - No option to work from home
Resident - Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid - May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote - Works from home 4+
