Reporting to the AVP, Financial Reporting, this position is a key member of the finance team and is responsible for leading regulatory reporting requirements, Pension Plan financial statements and consolidating journal entries. This role provides opportunity to develop cross functional collaboration between accounting, financial planning, tax and actuarial finance teams as well exposure to regulatory bodies including Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and Statistics Canada. In this role you will lead a team of financial analysts to meet the various reporting requirements and drive process efficiencies.

**What can you expect in this role?**
- Lead the team to deliver regulatory reporting requirements from OSFI and Statistics Canada, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Co-ordinate with cross functional business units to gather information on a timely basis
- Joint leadership in the month-end close process by providing analytical support and review of journal entries
- Lead the preparation of Pension Plan Financial Statements
- Lead external and internal audit requirements for the department
- Responsible for ensuring controls for regulatory reporting and accounting are in place and effective
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives within the team through automation or simplification of back-end processes
- Drive key projects and strategic initiatives forward by providing thought leadership, and also be ready to deep dive on issues as needed
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of finance professionals

**What do you bring to this role?**
- A CPA accounting designation and 2+ years at managerial level
- Understanding of International Financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and lead a team of finance professionals
- Strong working knowledge of excel and proven experience in process improvement
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
