**The Kildonan MCC Thrift Shop is a non-profit organization that accepts gently used items for resale. Our proceeds go towards funding programs and services for the Mennonite Central Committee and local organizations**

**Qualifications**:

- Must be knowledgeable about retail sales
- Experience working in retail sales environment, preference given to those with Thrift experience
- Must have staging competencies with merchandise
- Physically fit and able to work on one’s feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Highly organized and able to maintain a structured and organized workplace.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage continual incoming workload.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to take initiative, while at the same time responding to the direction of Management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, willing and able to work & relate with a variety of people; friendly, outgoing and appreciative of both volunteers and customers.
- Ability to practice flexibility and work collaboratively as a team.
- Heart for social justice, peacemaking and global understanding.

**Duties**:

- Stage donated product and keep displays fresh
- Provide excellent customer service skills
- Operate POS
- Complete end of day cash duties.
- Clean donated product for display
- Lead by example interacting and showing of appreciation to volunteers daily.
- Assist with sorting of donated goods, as needed.
- Abide by WHIMIS standards within all job responsibilities.
- Articulate the mission/purpose of KMTS to customers/donors, as required.
- Model nonviolent peacemaking in the work place and in the community
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those we serve, including the staff, volunteers and customers.
- Participate in planned KMTS trainings, as required.
- Attend staff meetings.
- C**hallenges**:
The position requires working in a comfortable but fast-paced retail shop and requires spending a significant portion of time on one's feet.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50-$16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
