Starting Hourly Rate: $25.77 - Full Rate: $28.13 additional Shift premiums for evening, weekends and holidays

Join our team of experienced Forming Operators and learn the fascinating modern form of the ancient art of glass making. This is a hands-on job where you’ll turn molten glass into fibers thinner than a human hair and package them for our customers to be used in composite products that make our world a better place. Our manufacturing site has been supplying the world with advanced materials from the heart of Guelph around the clock for more than 70 years. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant
- Understand and monitor the quality needs of our customers
- Manage the day to day production responsibilities of creating a world class glass fiber reinforcement product.
- Perform work in the finished product packaging area including Quality Testing, Packaging, Proper Product Identification and placement of finished material in the Warehouse
- Communicate with your peers and support staff to ensure effective teamwork
- Handle startup and shut down duties pertaining to packaging equipment at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintain quality checks and ensure proper product identification and weight
- Report any problems to appropriate personnel and carry out emergency procedures
- Operate a fork lift and other related material handling machinery
- Ensure production equipment is in optimal working condition and works in accordance to regulations set by the Company
- Assist in troubleshooting positional issues related to reliability
- Participate in continuous improvement activities as we strive for long term goals
- Perform other related duties as directed by Supervision

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- 1-3 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Participation and successful qualification in a workplace skill assessment administered by Owens Corning and Conestoga College as a condition of employment

- Ability to think under pressure and make quick decisions
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Good attention to detail
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Meet team expectations such as reliability, teamwork, and process improvement
