**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team.

Mental health services, including consultation, intake, assessment, collaborative care planning, education, navigation, and connection to other resources, to be done through a decolonizing lensed approach, being aware of clients’ intersectionality and healing journey to design treatment that would be tailored to meet clients’ specific needs. The Mental Health Clinician will be available for services to the 10 North Vancouver Island Nations in the communities (Health Centre’s) and in urban settings associated with Kwakwaka’wakw Primary Care Initiative.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide mental health and wellness counselling support and intervention services that include Health and treatment planning, connecting with client's Circle of Care as appropriate.
- Collaborate with team and community resources as needed to support client goals
- Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of patient progress; and document and track clinical records.
- Engage with patients in therapeutic activities to promote emotional and psychological well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Provide consultation, education and information to individuals, community and caregivers about mental wellness.
- Participate in case management activities, including attending meetings and contributing insights based on observations.

**Qualifications**
- A Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling or related health professional qualifications with a specialization in mental wellness or an equivalent combination of educations, training and experience.
- Advanced training in threat/risk assessment and/or trauma response, as well as training in brief intervention approaches
- Five to Seven years of experience working with complex social systems or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Three years recent direct experience in a clinical mental health and addictions setting working with children, youth and/or adults.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a patient-centered focus.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine interest in helping others improve their mental health.
- Previous experience in case management or related fields is a plus.
- Experience working with First Nations people and communities.
- Strong expertise, knowledge, and respect for First Nation approaches to health and wellness.
- Experience working from trauma informed, culturally sensitive approaches.

Pay: $42.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
