The Shipping Supervisor monitors operations of the Warehouse/Shipping Department to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met, such as those related to health and safety, standard costs, cost reductions, productivity, good manufacturing practices, sanitation, customer satisfaction, production scheduling and staffing. The incumbent participates to maintain the requirements on food safety, quality and defense.

**What’s involved in this role**
- Co-ordinates shipping operations between Shipping and Production, which you are responsible to manage the scheduling and planning of all Shipping and Receiving activities on a daily basis;
- Balance loads across multiple trailers, validate weight, accuracy and determine whether there are any shortages;
- Leads a group of over 20 unionized employees per shift, in a fast-paced environment, by conducting shift meetings, planning the operations, fulfilling daily and weekly manpower scheduling of over 60 warehouse employees along with scheduling vacations, covering sick calls and meeting customer deadlines;
- Promote and enhance a positive employee relation's environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement;
- Maintaining a safe working environment, reporting, and investigating any incidents.;
- Focus on positive. Promote and enhance a positive employee workplace atmosphere including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee engagement;
- Assign employee duties as required to gain optimum efficiencies.

**What you need to join our team**
- A university degree or college diploma in a relevant field
- 4 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment and experience with in a union environment.
- Experience in health and safety leadership, HACCP, SQF, quality assurance and good manufacturing practices
- Strong computer competencies, Excel advanced is required.
- Working knowledge of Kronos (Payroll), Oracle and SAP is an asset.
