**Job description** **Position: EKG/Exercise Stress Test Technician** **(Casual)** **Hours**:Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm/ 9:00am-5:30pm **Wage**:$19.688/hr. $33.481/hr. ***: The EKG/Exercise Stress Test Technician is responsible for the patient preparation, monitoring and equipment operation of electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG) and cardiac stress tests performed on patients at the Winnipeg Clinic. **QUALIFICATIONS**: - Diploma in Cardiology Technology and registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists **or** **Experience in performing EKG's and/or cardiac stress tests in an acute care hospital, clinic or physician practice preferred.** - **Knowledge of EKG and/or cardiac stress test related skills** **which include arrhythmia recognition,** **ECG change recognition, physiological response to exercise, respiratory status and some mechanical aptitude required.** - Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. - Basic typing or computer knowledge would be an asset. **RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Escorts patients to the department and ensures they are prepared for the test. - Explains and instructs the patients about the test. Generates and prepares reports for physician interpretation. - Procures and monitors supply stock. - Maintains equipment in good working condition and troubleshoots when needed. - Arranges appointments and answers phones for inquiries. - Performs patient data and procedure billing entries. - Faxes and tasks interpreted report to ordering physician - Ensures printing of daily schedule and calculation of daily total. - Responds to "99" emergency situation. **WORKING CONDITIONS**: - Must maintain Basic Rescuer Level in CPR. - Must perform within the Winnipeg Clinic's philosophy, policies and guidelines. - Must adhere to the policies of the Personal Health Information Act. - Must be well-groomed and follow the Winnipeg Clinic's dress code. **ASSETS**: Customer service experience Accuro experience **Job Type**: Casual Pay: $19.68-$33.48 per hour Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday - No weekends **Experience**: - EKG and/or cardiac stress tests: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Cardiology Technology Diploma (preferred) Work Location: In person
