Project Cost Controller

CP Distributors has a current opening for an experienced **Project Cost Controller **in one of our branches across Canada (Preferably **Edmonton, Surrey, Calgary, Saskatoon)**.

The position is **full-time** and, for a highly motivated professional, has tremendous growth opportunities. As key member of our project management team, you will provide proactive, effective cost control for a diverse portfolio of projects across the organization.

As a **Project Cost Controller**, you will be responsible to:
Oversee project financials for multiple projects of varying budgets and durations
- Calculate and map out the cost of people resources, materials, logistics, travel, and all associated administrative costs
- Assess project cost risks and related costs
- Ensures that as projects progress, costs incurred are in line with budgets and can be relied upon to paint a clear financial picture for short-term and long-term projects
- When changes occur, the project cost controller must proactively update forecasts and communicate effectively with affected PM and leadership
- Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders

**Your Experience**:

- Ideally, you have 5+ years of experience in leading the cost control function for project budgets of more than $2million
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or business preferably with a focus on accounting or project controls;
- Certification with Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) or other related certifications considered an asset
- Direct Construction Project experience is required
- Proven experience working collaboratively with multiple locations and stakeholders

- Strong time management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability for self-management of multiple simultaneous priorities or deadlines
- High detail orientation and accuracy in reporting of financials
- Proficiency with, accounting software, project management tools, and related technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective lines of communication on project budgets and progress
- Comfortable operating in a multi-project environment
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across our company, maintaining our close-knit, team-orientated culture.
