- Reporting to the Campus Director, the Instructor is responsible for delivering components of the courses to students._

**Responsibilities**
- Prepares, distributes, and explains all teaching materials using only pre-authorized or Sprott Shaw materials
- Ability to follow processes, policies, and procedures for all forms of assessments
- Maintain classroom organization while practicing COVID-19 preventative measures
- Participates in campus-level and organization-level meetings and events
- Attend monthly faculty and calibration meetings for program alignment
- Adheres to Sprott Shaw College policies including maintaining student confidentiality of student information
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing

**Qualifications and Education**

Instructional Experience:

- Master’s Degree - Education, or Counselling Psychology, Provincial Instructors Diploma
- 3-5 years' experience instructing post-secondary courses in psychology, counselling, mental health, or related fields
- Embrace and practice the tenants of adult learning
- Instruct students via classroom learning activities, lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, role-plays, coordination of guest speakers and /or field trips
- Administer and grade papers & quizzes using standardized rubrics to evaluate student progress
- Well-versed in formal academic writing and APA formatting
- SSC provides curriculum for each PCD course - it is the expectation that the instructor will augment curriculum with additional and relevant adult learner activities pertinent to topics instructed

Professional Counselling Experience:

- Master’s Degree with a minimum of eight years post-Master’s clinical experience OR Master’s level equivalent, i.e. Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling (MPCC)
- Experience working with clients in a mental health setting
- Familiar with counselling assessments, DSM-5 diagnosis and concurrent disorders
- Experience counselling clients from diverse backgrounds
- Effective core counselling skills
- Strong communicator and problem solver
- Experience working from an integrative perspective and comfortable demonstrating counselling strategies and interventions from various modalities.

**Skills**
