Child Care Manager

The Childcare manger reports to the Childcare administrator and will work together as a team with the program supervisors and educators. You will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of quality, inclusive childcare. Supporting child-led programing.
**Education/ Experience**:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, including Special Needs and Infant and Toddler certification. If not fully qualified, you must be willing to complete certification in a timely manner.
- Current License to practice with the BC Registry of Early Childhood Educators
- Minimum of 2 years in a Supervisory role in a childcare setting
- Valid criminal record check/ CPR child first aid
- Demonstrated understanding of the BC Early Learning Framework and childcare licensing regulations.

- Ability to manage confidential information and situations in a professional manner
- Ability to respond to emergencies and maintain control in high stress situations

- Demonstrate sound judgement and excellent communication skills both written and verbal
**DUTIES WITH RESPECT TO**:
**A) Overall**:
- Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children and their families
- Responsible for the continuous supervision of the safety and well-being of the children
- Ensure that all programs always operate in compliance with childcare licensing standards
- Engage in positive collaboration with the educators within the organization in coordinating the effective use of equipment, facilities and personnel
- Participates in the supervision training and mentoring of students and educators
- Assist the Childcare administrator in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by promptly reporting any existing and potential workplace hazards.
- Attend Board Meetings in the absence of Childcare administrator
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Childcare
- Administrator or their delegate.
**B) Programs and Educators**:
- Ensure each program has the required supplies and equipment to operate
- Work alongside Childcare Administrator to establish policies and procedures for the organization
- Manage childcare staff resources effectively to ensure that all staff work as members of a team have input into planning and have opportunities for improving their skills.
- Provide coverage for absent staff as required when possible
- Prepare staff schedules and perform administrative duties as required
- Assist with planning monthly staff meetings and Professional Development days
**C) Assist in the administration of the facility with the Childcare administrator**:
- Enroll children and orient families in the childcare programs
- Keep parents informed of program expectations and activities
- Develop and maintain current accurate and confidential children and staff files
- Monitor the Centre’s Fiscal Budget
- Receive program fees, deposits
