**TITLE: Political Science Instructor (Sessional)**

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

- **POLI 100 - Introduction to Political Science**:The aim of this course is to introduce students to the various systems which communities use to establish, elect, structure, and manage their governing bodies. Students will learn about the impact of political systems on the major issues of the day, including climate change, globalization, the threat of nuclear war, the distribution of wealth, race relations, cultural hegemony, and regional dynamics.

**EMPLOYMENT TYPE**: Part-time, contract

**COURSE RATE RANGE**: $6,800 - $7,100

**TERM**: Various terms during the academic year

**CLOSING DATE**: Ongoing

**SCHEDULE**:Flexible, dependent on availability

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Political Science, or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC post-secondary institution
- Able to demonstrate success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of course learning outcomes an asset
- Proficient with educational technology including databases and online learning environments
- Excellent instructional capability
- Able to maintain professionalism and cordiality when working with others
- Strong Proficiency in English
