Volunteer - Tuckshop Coordinator

**Volunteers** report to the Recreation Manager and are expected to demonstrate commitment to resident well-being while focusing on emotion based person centered care by implementing high-quality activities in accordance with the organization's vision and mission while maintaining the Tuckshop.
**Responsibilities**:
- Accurately handle cash transactions and ensure proper accounting
- Stock shelves and maintain an organized, clean store environment
- Interact with residents in a professional and friendly manner, following store guidelines and protocols
- Assist in managing the tuckshop
- Collaborate with a team, as well as work efficiently on your own
**Qualifications**:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- Able to count and handle cash accurately
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor with great communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to different situations
- Leadership qualities and the ability to manage the store when needed
- Reliability and a commitment to a long-term volunteer role
- Quick learner with a positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
- Must enjoy working with the elderly in a setting that promotes optimum independence, dignity and respect
- Must have high energy and a sense of fun
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Ability to have meaningful engagements with others
- Clear vulnerable sector screening (w/ in last 6 months), recent TB test results (w/ in last 6 months) or Chest X-Ray (w/ in last 1 yr), and two supervisory references required

**Education**: Required
- Post Secondary Diploma or better in Arts
**Licenses & Certifications**: Preferred
- Cert. in Recrea/Geront
