At Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC), our mission is simple but vital: to protect the West Coast through world-class marine spill preparedness and response. We are looking for an Indigenous Relations Manager who will play a key role in advancing reconciliation and building strong, sustainable partnerships with Indigenous communities throughout our geographical areas of response.

**What You’ll Do**
As the Indigenous Relations Manager, you will:
- Develop and implement consultation strategies that meet legal obligations, advance reconciliation, and strengthen long-term relationships.
- Negotiate and conclude agreements with Indigenous communities to support effective spill preparedness.
- Represent WCMRC at public meetings, open houses, and Indigenous community events.
- Keep leadership informed on emerging issues, trends, and sensitive matters that may impact operations.
- Build internal awareness by developing and delivering cultural competency training.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on agreements and engagement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of all consultation and engagement activities.
- Act as Liaison Officer within the Incident Command System (ICS) during spill response exercises and real incidents.
**What You Bring**
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, Political Science, or a related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- At least 7 years of progressive experience developing communications and negotiation strategies in Indigenous relations.
- Strong communication, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, political relationships, TRC Calls to Action, and UNDRIP.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in complex environments, with strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Legally entitled to work within Canada
**Preferred**:
- Direct experience working for or within Indigenous communities.
- Familiarity with Indigenous language, culture, and engagement protocols.

Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
