- College-level training in paralegal technical degree or equivalent.
- Required experience: 5-10 years in a similar role in a corporate or law firm.
- Excellent command of French and English, both written and verbal; Fluency in English is required, as you will be working with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and partners across Canada and the United States.
- Good knowledge of computer tools and software related to the job.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, leadership, autonomy, versatility, and teamwork.
- Attention to detail, good priority management, and resourcefulness.
- An analytical mind with a solution-oriented approach.
What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
Legal and Contractual
- In collaboration with the lawyers in the Legal Affairs team, review and draft contractual documentation and any related documents that may be involved in Borea's activities.
- Participate in the development of a database of key clauses and new clauses required for Borea's business activities.
- Coordinate document management, including: ensuring the tracking, filing, and archiving of contractual and legal documents, as well as their accessibility.
- Conduct searches in various search systems and registries (Business Register, Land Registry, RDPRM, SOQUIJ, CAIJ, etc.).
Corporate and Regulatory
- Ensure Borea's corporate and regulatory compliance, including: preparing, reviewing, and coordinating the filing of necessary documentation with regulatory and government entities (Canada and the US).
- Prepare and draft any corporate documents required by Borea and coordinate with the corporate departments of Borea-related entities.
Governance
- Participate in the drafting, review, and implementation of policies and procedures within Borea.
- Contribute to the development of procedures to increase the collaborative efficiency of the Legal Affairs team, as well as the Estimating, Pre-construction, and Project departments.
Support the team in receiving, analyzing, and processing access to information requests, in managing the privacy file, as well as in managing files related to lobbying and the Charter of the French Language.
- All other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the Legal Affairs department.
