We are looking for an experienced legal advisor to complete the team that provides legal support to the organization in the areas of corporate and transactional law.

In collaboration with your colleagues and the Director, Corporate and Transactional Affairs, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Support the growth of the various business segments by participating in acquisitions
- Act as legal advisor in strategic corporate and transactional matters, including strategic investments
- Assist in managing the portfolio of iA Financial Group companies, including mergers, corporate reorganizations, liquidations and dissolutions
- Assist in procuring financing for iA Financial Group companies, including public, intercompany and third-party financing
- Provide opinions on various aspects of transactional, corporate and public/private financing law
- Draft corporate documents including: by-laws, resolutions, shareholder agreements, delegations of authority, mandates and other corporate documents
- Act as corporate secretary for one or more of the group’s subsidiaries
- Assist in the monitoring of legislative, regulatory, jurisprudential and other changes in corporate, transactional and public/private financing law

**Your career path looks like this**:

- Bachelor’s degree in law
- Member of a provincial bar
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in corporate and transactional law
- Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) for frequent interaction with French
- and English-speaking colleagues and partners across Canada
- Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry and securities obligations (asset)
