Belong Ottawa, a Community Ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, offers support to homeless and vulnerably housed people to ensure health and well-being, nourishment, and social connection. Job Summary
The Evening and Weekend Services Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality services at Belong Ottawa’s drop-in programs, including The Well, Centre 454, and St. Luke’s Table. Reporting to the Program Managers and the Senior Leadership Team, this position ensures that operations during evenings and weekends run smoothly, and both participants and front-line staff have a safe and supportive environment. The role involves overseeing evening programming, managing staffing needs, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies. The coordinator also supports the emotional and practical needs of participants, supports and mentors volunteers and staff, and ensures compliance with program standards.

**Responsibilities**:
Program Delivery
- Oversee evening and weekend operations, ensuring service delivery aligns with Belong Ottawa’s values and harm reduction principles.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies for improving program quality and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with community trends and legislative updates related to program operations.
- Provide onsite and mobile support across Belong Ottawa locations as needed, especially in staffing shortages, emergencies, and last-minute call-ins.
- Supervise kitchen operations and ensure cleanliness and health and safety standards are met.
- Address participant concerns, mediate conflicts, and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Lead end-of-shift debriefs and maintain accurate records, including HIFIS (homeless individual and family information system) incident, and critical incident reports.
- Respond to medical, mental health, and security emergencies and escalate to emergency services when needed.
Personnel Coordination
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to evening and weekend staff, including relief and front-line workers.
- Manage sick calls, critical incidents, and attendance concerns, and report the same to relevant program managers
- Work with the Program Manager and the Senior Leadership Team to assess and meet staffing needs.
- Implement training and development opportunities for staff and volunteers based on program needs.
- Contribute to the scheduling process to ensure smooth operations and adequate staffing.
- Address and update Program Managers regarding performance concerns and provide regular updates and communication to staff regarding changes to service delivery.
Administration
- Review and recommend revisions to operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy of Participant records and incident reports, including HIFIS, activity listings, and critical incident documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, and contractual requirements.
- Report to the management team as required and maintain clear and complete communication with program managers.
