**Job description**

We are hiring for a retired and experienced General Maintenance Worker or Handyman looking to earn some money on the side with flexible work hours. This position will be primarily on call support for tenants and scheduled tasks managed by the property management company. Emergency visits to properties may be required but not much.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Perform general day-to-day maintenance of properties on a scheduled basis through the year, tasks will be given as needed.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance in units
- Responsible for the general outdoor maintenance and inspections regularly to keep aware of unit condition and reporting to the company.
- Responsible for responding to emergency calls in a timely manner if needed.
- Coordinate with trades and tenants for scheduled jobs
- Responsible for minor painting touch ups and clean ups when the properties turnover as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Showing units to potential tenants

**Professional Requirements**:

- Minimum two to three (2-3) years experience in general maintenance is required and basic knowledge of drywall repair, painting, electrical, plumbing etc.
- Experience dealing with tenants and trades, managing relationships
- Must have a driving license and vehicle to get to job sites
- Experience with outdoor cleanup, landscaping, and snow removal in some situations is an asset.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and sometimes weekends - for emergency jobs.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Able to pay attention to small details and trustworthy

Part-time hours: 0-10 per week

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Permanent

**Salary**: $25 per hour

- On call only

- Day Shift (scheduled)
- Night Shift (only for emergencies)

Willingness to travel:

- Limited to Port Colborne and Welland
