VP and Chief Economist, Peter Norman

, we are looking for an Analyst to join our National Economic Advisory team. You will play a pivotal role in conducting research, gathering and analyzing data, contributing to studies for our national clients, and writing effective consultative reports. You will work as a trusted advisor in economic and forecasting studies, working well with a variety of team members, and be mentored.

This position is a hybrid/in-office work arrangement, with occasional travel and on-site visits as required. This position is based primarily out of our Toronto office. However, we would be open to individuals who are able to attend our offices in Calgary, Vancouver or Ottawa as required as part of the hybrid/in-office work arrangement.

What you will do:
- Conduct research. You will be directed and guided to collect data from internal databases and third-party sources regarding economic, demographic, real estate market, and other topics as required. You will correspond with industry participants to elicit and compile real estate market data.- Prepare information for reporting and analysis. You will perform data entry for analytical models and prepare preliminary analysis using advanced Microsoft Excel skills. On some occasions you will use GIS software to perform spatial data analysis and provide high-quality graphic outputs and mapping.- Build and create. You will, under supervision, develop and maintain analytical models. You will draft informative and visually compelling tables and charts for consulting reports.- Learn. You will continuously upgrade your knowledge regarding the market and industry trends.

You have:
- The education and motivation.
- _ _You have a university degree in Economics, Urban Planning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline. You may be a new grad with co-op or project experience. Or, you may have experience as a junior analyst, supporting the efforts of a team and acting as a key contact for disseminating information. Certificate in advanced use of Microsoft Excel is beneficial- The accountability. You take ownership of your tasks, are detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics. You have the initiative and resourcefulness to find solutions.- The technical skills. You have intermediate research, quantitative and analytical skills. You are proficient in MS Office and have competency with design and spatial analysis software.Using advanced Microsoft Excel skills to build, update and maintain databases. Independent review is anticipated, with senior co-worker overview-
- The flexibility. You have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. You are willing to work the occasional weekend or evening to complete studies or attend client meetings, forums, and information sessions.
