**About the Role**
The Assistant Reconditioning Manager supports the Reconditioning Manager in overseeing the Detailing Shop, ensuring all reconditioning tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising the detailing team, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and upholding our commitment to exceptional quality and service.
**Team Supervision & Operations**:
- Lead, train, and support the detailing team while ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Delegate tasks and monitor team progress to ensure vehicles meet company and manufacturer standards.
- Accurately manage Time & Attendance records, ensuring adequate shift coverage and team scheduling.
- Open and close Repair Orders (ROs) for all reconditioning work as required.
**Detailing & Quality Control**:
- Perform interior and exterior detailing, including vacuuming, steam cleaning, washing, waxing, polishing, and minor paint touch-ups.
- Inspect new and used vehicles to ensure thorough detailing prior to showroom display or delivery.
- Conduct quality control checks using appropriate tools to ensure completed work meets expectations.
- Maintain records regarding fuel levels and overall vehicle condition.
**Safety & Compliance**:
- Ensure team adherence to all health and safety protocols, including participation in monthly safety inspections.
- Enforce proper use of safety footwear and company dress code.
- Promptly report any workplace incidents or injuries to management.
**Facility & Equipment Maintenance**:
- Assist with the general upkeep of the detailing shop and facility, including cleaning floors, restrooms, and shared areas.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
**Collaboration & Communication**:
- Coordinate with the Reconditioning Manager, Service Department, and Merchandiser to align on vehicle prep schedules.
- Foster effective communication within the team and with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
**Internal Service Advisor Support (as needed)**:
- Greet internal departments and support staff requiring vehicle updates or repair status information.
- Assist with Repair Order documentation and updates in collaboration with service advisors.
- Coordinate vehicle movement and status communication between detailing and service teams.
- Help prioritize detailing tasks based on vehicle delivery timelines or service urgency.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with service team members to support workflow and customer satisfaction.
**Additional Duties**:
- Contribute to lot maintenance, including snow removal, salting walkways, and trash collection on Attrell Toyota-owned properties.
- Perform additional facility-related tasks as assigned.
- Remain on-site until all detailing work has been completed for the day.
