CES Corporation has a unique and challenging opportunity for a highly skilled, adaptable, energetic and hardworking Shipping/Receiving Supervisor with a proven track-record of supervising large-scale warehouse operations and leading a team. Reporting to the Operations Manager,this role will oversee all inbound and outbound logistics activities within CES Corporation’s Acheson facility. This role will ensure the safe, efficient and accurate handling of all materials, components and finished goods within the facility and plays a critical role in maintaining flow between production, warehousing, freight, including ensuring regulation and safety compliance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for all Inbound and outbound logistics within the facility.
- Supervise and coordinate the unloading of raw materials, components and supplies, including verifying all deliveries against packing slips, bill of ladings (BOL) and purchase orders (PO’s)
- Ensure accurate documentation and system entries, reporting and escalating all discrepancies and/or damages, including working with QA for inbound inspections.
- Supervise and coordinate the preparation, packaging, and labeling of all outbound materials and goods; schedule freight pickups, domestic and/or international, and reviewing BOL’s and customs paperwork.
- Work with all departments to ensure shipments meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure inventory accuracy - monitor incoming/outgoing inventory transactions, perform cycle counts and support in physical inventory activities, including maintaining organized labelled storage.
- Generate accurate reporting of shipping/receiving KPI’s, logs, data, ERP/WMS systems and provide feedback on supplier performance related to logistics.
- Develop and conduct performance evaluations, and provide regular feedback, to develop and grow employees into greater levels of contribution.
- Effectively manage employee payroll - timecards, absences and vacations.
- Perform Active Supervision Tours (AST’s) throughout the shift - manage shipping schedules, quality delivery, regular coaching and feedback, training the team on all standard operating procedures (SOP’s), safety procedures, forklift certifications
- Maintain a safe working environment through regular safety compliance inspections and meetings, investigations and targeted training programs, promoting a safe work culture by motivating safe behaviors and leading by example.
- Hold self and others accountable for individual and collective results.
- Oversee facility wide waste management, including the handling and proper disposal of major materials and hazardous waste.
- Lead and conduct daily tiered meetings, administering company policy and procedures consistently, influencing employees at all levels through any change process.
- Champion continuous improvement through lean methodologies and stakeholder involvement - identify bottlenecks or delays and implement corrective measures.
- Engage and collaborate with all departments, people and stakeholders across the organization in a professional manner
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory/Leadership role with responsibility for a team of a minimum of 2 employees required
- Minimum 2 years in warehousing management experience required
- Proficiency in using production and enterprise software, and reporting tools, and MS Office
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Safety legislation
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing - 5S and continuous improvement methodologies an asset
- Forklift and crane certification is an asset
- Strong understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
