Tire and Lube Tech Apprentice

Jiffy Auto Service is currently seeking a new Tire and Lube Tech Apprentice to join our staff at our Vanier, ON location.

Tire and Lube Tech Apprentices perform a series of tasks to support the repair and maintenance of customer vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery. Tire and Lube Tech Apprentices may also perform car detailing functions as required. Tire and Lube Tech Apprentices are a vital part of our staff as they engage with our customers directly and in doing so are responsible for a customer’s impression of our business.

As a member of our staff the Tire and Lube Tech Apprentice will assist shop technicians with minor repairs (as required), provide exceptional service to each and every customer, perform light shop maintenance duties and will also:

- Examine, repair and change tires
- Complete required paper work in an accurate, legible and timely manner
- Advise the shop manager of any problems regarding the shop or customer related matters
- Keep a well-organized and professional work area
- Work at our front counter
- Act as a delivery driver when needed
- Work outside (in various weather conditions)
- Complete other related duties as required
- Possessing a Commercial Ontario wheel installers certificate
- Apprentice (1st or 2nd year)
- Outstanding sales expertise
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in auto service, tire installation, oil lube, and maintenance (**required**)
- Experience with brake alignments and front end work (an asset)
- Working knowledge of tires, tools and equipment
- Ability to demonstrate dexterity with hand tools
- Strong work ethic
- Confidence and aptitude to operate independently in a supervised capacity
- Experience working in a team-based environment
- Adaptability and enthusiasm to succeed in assigned tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Comfortable performing heavy lifting
- Valid Driver’s license
- Mechanical aptitude
- Availability for rotations in shifts (nights, after hours/on call)

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
