**Position Summary**
Centennial College is looking for two (2) accessible learning professionals to support a diverse student population, within a multi-campus institution, in-person and virtually. Reporting to the Manager, Accessible Learning Services (ALS), the Accessible Learning Advisor (ALA) provides system navigation and administrative support for accessible learning needs, and issues accommodation letters that promote academic success and foster inclusivity for students with diverse learning needs. The ALA will play a critical role in supporting students with disabilities to access essential services and contribute to the overall mission and strategic directions of the Student Life Enhancement Division (SLED) portfolio.

The ALA will review intake and screening questionnaires, advise on disability documentation requirements, support preliminary accommodation planning, and assist students in the triage to appropriate accessible learning services to ensure equal access to education.

**Responsibilities**
- Fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel supported and empowered to succeed.
- Serves as an entry point for students with disabilities requesting access to ALS, providing system navigation and assisting with the collection of necessary documentation.
- Provides individualized support and guidance to students addressing barriers to accessing accommodations
- Provides orientation to students on how to access ALS at the Centre for Accessible Learning and Counselling Services’ (CALCS) including protocols and documentation (e.g., Privacy and Confidentiality Agreement, Reference Guide, and Accommodated Testing Online Management System (ATOMS) instructions, etc.)
- Conducts accessible learning intake assessments.
- Meet with students to review existing disability documentation, accessible learning plans and recommended accommodations.
- Support the completion of the Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD).
- Assess student needs for additional resources and services within CALCS when required (e.g., Counsellors, Learning Strategists, Adaptive Technology Specialists, and Accessible Learning Facilitators).
- Reviews accessible learning plans and recommendations and facilitates referrals to services and supports as necessary.
- Creates and maintains student records containing confidential personal health and academic accommodation documents in compliance with departmental protocols, College policies, and FIPPA and PHIPA legislation.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders as needed, including clinical and administrative teams.
- Facilitates connections to off-campus resources and supports as needed, collaborating with the Counsellor and other ALS staff to maintain up-to-date referral information.
- Advises the College community on services available to students with disabilities, resources to increase accessibility, and best practices in duty-to-accommodate and relevant legislation.
- Collaborates with academic departments and student services to ensure a coordinated approach to accessibility and inclusive learning.
- Participates in College Committee of Accessibility Issues (CCAI) and professional development and training activities

**Qualifications/Experience**
- 3-year diploma/degree, or equivalent in Disability Studies, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or another relevant field of study; or a combination of lived experience, working experience, and education that demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities. Post-graduate credentials are an asset.
