**Maintenance Technician II, Permanent, Full time**

As a Maintenance Tech II, the successful applicant will perform preventative and break/fix maintenance tasks at the buildings SPAC is responsible for. Under general supervision, other expectations include performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural, and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning, drywall repairs and painting, and monthly safety checks.
Positive interpersonal and relationship skills are also essential to this role as liaising with external and internal contacts occurs throughout the shift.
This position requires the incumbent to work at multiple locations with working hours of 7 am to 3 pm. A valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract are mandatory as this position requires driving Church vehicles.
See below for the required qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in an institutional or related maintenance environment working with a Journeyman Tradesman is preferred, with experience in commercial construction and commercial supplies.
- Experience with materials and equipment associated with Grounds, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC is also preferred.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects up to and including seventy (70) pounds.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Strong computer literacy skills, knowledge of Microsoft programs, and experience with CMMS is an asset.
- Solid communication skills both written and verbal.
- Collaborative teamwork and good interpersonal skills are essential.
As this is a full-time, permanent position, at forty hours per week, eligibility for full group benefits including health and dental, short and long-term disability is after three months and retiral benefits are available after one year of service.

- Commit to following and live by the “Rule of Life” adopted by the SPAC staff, and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Staff Handbook
- Member of Sherwood Park Alliance Church or willing to work towards membership
- Completion of Abuse Prevention Training, and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required.
