At **Highbury North Pet Hospital**, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care for our furry friends. As a private, Canadian, locally owned and operated independent veterinary clinic, we offer a personalized approach to veterinary medicine, creating a warm, friendly, and compassionate environment for both pets and their owners. We are currently seeking a dedicated **Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant** to join our small close-knit team As a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant at Highbury North Pet Hospital, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and the face of our clinic. You'll be responsible for a variety of duties, including:

  • **Reception and Client Care**: Greet clients (on the phone and in person) and pets with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing exceptional customer service.
  • **Scheduling and Appointments**: Manage appointment bookings, reminder calls, and follow-ups to ensure efficient clinic operations.

- **Invoicing clients and processing payments**

  • **Communication**: Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear instructions and information regarding appointments, treatments, and procedures.
  • **Medical Support**: Assist veterinary staff in various administrative tasks, including preparing patient files, handling medical records, and updating patient histories.
  • **Client Education**: Offer guidance and support to pet owners on routine care, medication schedules, and preventative health practices.
  • **Assisting with patients**:Assist the veterinarian or technician to handle and treat patients when extra help is needed
  • **Clinic Support**: Help maintain clinic cleanliness, assist with inventory management, and ensure a smooth workflow.

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and team-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. Ideally, you have:

  • **Previous Experience** in a veterinary clinic is a **MUST** (receptionist, assistant)
  • **A desire to keep learning and growing**.
  • **Excellent Communication Skills** and a customer-first attitude.
  • **Strong Organizational Skills** and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • A **passion for animals** and their well-being.
  • A **team-player mentality**, ready to collaborate and support your colleagues in providing the best possible care for our patients and helping to get the job done.
  • **Good Computer Skills**, including familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and veterinary software
  • Avimark is a plus. You’ll be using our systems to manage appointments, medical records, invoice clients and more.
