On Call Equipment Operator/sanding Truck

We are seeking a reliable and experienced On-Call Snow Removal Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is highly variable, with work hours dependent on weather conditions. We aim to accommodate as many hours as possible for our employees, but the job is very much weather-dependent.
Depending on the forecast, you could have anywhere from zero hours to 5-7 days a week. Shop time is limited unless special circumstances allow for it. Flexibility and availability to respond to sudden weather events are critical.
Prior knowledge and experience in operating snow removal equipment is an absolute must, with a minimum of 3 years of experience required. A skills test may be conducted as part of the pre-hire process.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Operate snow removal equipment such as plows, loaders, skid steers, and salt spreaders to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and walkways.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow events, often with short notice.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure safe and efficient snow removal operations.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure readiness.
- Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to management.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to manage snow removal tasks effectively.
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience operating snow removal equipment is required.
- Ability to work in extreme winter conditions, including cold temperatures and snowstorms.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
