**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Loyola is looking to add a dynamic and devoted General Maintenance Worker to our team.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Operations and the Superintendent, the General Maintenance Worker at Loyola High School is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the school's facilities. This role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and assisting in the upkeep of the campus to create a conducive learning environment for students and staff.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Custodial Support: Assist with cleaning and sanitation duties as needed, including floor cleaning, trash removal, and restroom maintenance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and report on the inventory of maintenance and custodial supplies, assisting in procurement when necessary.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks, including ensuring the proper functioning of various systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting, as well as repairing or replacing damaged fixtures, equipment, and furniture.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of the school's grounds, which may include mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, removing snow, spreading salt, and ensuring the overall appearance of the campus is well-kept.
- Safety and Security: Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, and promptly address any safety hazards or issues within the school premises.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various maintenance equipment and tools, such as power tools, hand tools, cleaning equipment and landscaping equipment.
- Cleaning duties in common areas, offices and classrooms include dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Cleaning duties in restrooms include restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Perform additional duties as needed.

**WORK HOURS & BENEFITS**:

- Shift work from Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proven experience, preferably in a school or educational institution.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
- A valid driver's license may be required.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- This position may require working indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- This position may require availability for on-call or emergency situations outside of regular working hours.
- Physical effort and dexterity are required, including lifting heavy objects, and performing manual labor.

**SALARY**:Commensurate with education and experience
