- Construction Coordinators do not have any direct responsibility for achieving progress or productivity, however, they are responsible for ensuring that progress is accurately reported and verified, and to minimize or eliminate any obstruction to the efficient working of the project. Construction Coordinators serve as the liaison between the Contractors and the field engineering, quality, AWP, and turnover functions on the project.
- Responsibilities for the Civil Construction Coordinator will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates and monitors the activities of assigned contractors performing work within the Construction disciplines and ensures compliance with project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and security requirements
- Coordinates the interface between Construction and the other disciplines on the project including Design Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management, Procurement, Contracts, and the Client team.
- Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of Construction Managers, Superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving of technical related issues.
- Evaluate change requests and interfaces with the contract administrator for the initiation and development of contract modifications
- Participates in pre-construction planning efforts during the development phase of projects including development of the Construction Execution Plan, and reviewing and analyzing EPC schedules
- Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project making safety a natural part of all work performed.
- Other duties as assigned
The position will work in the Calgary Home Office for one month and then the Project Site location. On-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office facilities and various levels of outside weather.
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
**Basic Job Requirements**
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Civil Construction Supervision
- Ten (10) plus years of progressive Construction experience
- Experience working with, Concrete, Earthworks, Ditches, Grades, Culverts, and other Civil duties.
**Other Job Requirements**
- Strong communications skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Strong working knowledge of civil construction codes, standards, principals, and procedures.
