The General Labourer will be a mature individual who will demonstrate the necessary qualities to perform this position with attention to detail and organization. The general labourer will perform daily material handling/picking, processing, clean-up, and packaging duties. **Develop your CAREER with VG Meats**

**What you will do as the General Labourer**:

- Organize, weigh, package, label products, and fulfil orders.
- Feed and unload processing machines and assist machine operators with their duties.
- Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes or other containers.
- Clean work areas and equipment - maintain food safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually, or with powered equipment.
- Prepare skids and outgoing orders in preparation for deliveries and error-free shipments.
- Receive and unload freight and validate all shipped and received materials.
- Adhere to and abide by all Health and Safety rules, regulations and procedures.

- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work in cold conditions
- Good work ethic and organized
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
