Background & Purpose of the Job
We are looking for a Seasonal General Labour employee at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike, Popsicle, and Wall's
The Seasonal General Labour employee works during the factory’s peak production season.
The general objective of the General Labour position is to stage and supply packaging and dry good ingredients to the production floor to ensure that production requirements are met.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do:
- Report to the scheduled work centre at the scheduled shift start time.- Ensure the safe working, good housekeeping and good manufacturing practices are observed, in meeting daily production and quality expectations.- Ensure that the proper quantity of materials and or ingredients are brought down from the supply hall to the production floor to meet daily production requirements.- Report safety hazards or environmental risks immediately to supervisor.- Perform the job duties in a manner that is safe for yourself and others around you, including compliance with safety and ergonomic practices.- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Succeed- Ability to work various shifts including 8-hr & 12-hr shifts, weekday and weekend shifts.- Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.- Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.- Education - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
