The unit supports the faculty’s co-op programs and engages students in self-discovery, career planning, career exploration, and career development to help meet their career goals. The goal of the position is to identify new and enhance current employer partnerships with industry partners to better promote experiential learning opportunities (co-op, graduate work placements, new graduate positions) to our undergraduate and graduate students to increase enrolment and placements. To view Western Engineering’s Mission, Vision, and Values click here. **Responsibilities**: The Coordinator-Officer will perform a wide range of administrative duties to support a program, research project, department, or other business unit. Accountabilities: - Provide Career Counselling and Support to students including resume writing, cover letter, and interview support. - Manage and support information sessions, workshops, and lectures to support co-op opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. - Coordinate and deliver career training modules/workshops and support special projects in collaboration with various stakeholders including the Career Services team. **Qualifications** **Education**: - Undergraduate Degree, in Business Management/Administration preferred **Experience**: - 1 year of administrative experience in an office environment **Skills, Abilities & Expertise**: - Knowledge of general office procedures - Familiarity with financial records management - Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices - Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred - Ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required - Ability to foster collaboration and respect among team members - Communication skills with confidence in interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization - Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner - Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy - Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person, or electronically - Results-oriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
