**Who are we?**
Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre is a comfortable & secure seniors’ long term care home to 130 Seniors, situated on 4 acres of lawns and gardens overlooking the Thompson River in Kamloops. We love our homelike feel that is beautiful and filled with natural light and cozy surroundings.

**Key Position Duties**:
Under the day-to-day direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of maintenance duties related to buildings, grounds and equipment such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
- Adaptable and able to shift priorities quickly and effectively;
- You are productive, ambitious and you have a strong desire to learn and expand your skills;
- You have good interpersonal skills and you are able to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing support services in a Resident-focused environment;
- You are professional, both in manner and appearance;
- You are in good health and are physically able to perform the duties required;
- You are an effective communicator, both written and oral;
- You have a keen eye for quality and detail;
- You are interested in contributing to a team with an enviable work culture.

**Ideally you have the following education and skills**:

- Patching and painting experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience in building maintenance
- Experience using computer programs
- WHMIS certification
- Familiar with WorkSafe regulations
- Grade 12 level of High School
- Experience working in long term care - an asset

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
