**Job Summary**:
The Catering and Event Manager at Sandpiper Resort is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private gatherings. This role involves overseeing all aspects of event management, from initial client consultation to final execution, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
**1. Department Administration**:

- Oversee all aspects of the Catering and Events department, ensuring compliance with resort policies and government regulations.
- Manage hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance appraisals of the department’s staff.
- Collaborate with the resort’s management team to effectively implement and uphold resort policies.

**2. Operational Management**:

- Ensure the smooth operation of all departmental activities and services.
- Conduct site tours, secure event bookings, and finalize Catering Contracts.
- Manage billing, collection of deposits, and pre-payments for events.
- Provide on-site supervision during events and offer support to the Catering team as needed.
- Coordinate final event billings, collections, and related accounting tasks.

**3. Sales and Marketing**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive Catering and Events Sales Plan.
- Engage in business networking, direct sales activities, and maintain customer databases.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and actively pursue new business opportunities for the department.

**4. Financial Management**:

- Monitor daily revenue, control labor costs, and manage the department’s budget.
- Prepare weekly staff schedules, oversee payroll, and delegate assignments as necessary.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.

**5. Leadership and Training**:

- Supervise and mentor employees, ensuring adherence to resort policies and employment standards.
- Provide orientation, ongoing training, and address potential issues proactively.
- Represent the resort positively in the community and contribute to quality assurance initiatives.

**6. Additional Duties**:

- Attend and actively participate in Department Head meetings.
- Maintain relationships with external service providers for events, such as equipment rental and audio/visual companies.
- Prepare and submit performance reports, labor reports, and sales analysis.
- Assist with product development, promotions, and pricing strategies.
- Serve as Duty Manager as scheduled and undertake any other tasks necessary to support resort operations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
