Martensville Lutheran Early Learning Centers Inc. is hiring 2 full time Early Childhood Educators. The successful applicants will work closely with other staff, the children and their families. They will work collaboratively with the Director and their team members to provide a safe environment wherein each child may develop to his/her potential; spiritually, physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and creatively.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Education Certification (or equivalent post secondary education).
  • Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-C, Criminal Record Check, and a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • A sound theoretical and practical understanding of child development.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work with children in a group setting.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other Educators.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the Play and Exploration Curriculum
  • Play and Exploration Phase I is an asset.

**Responsibilities**

  • Prepare the environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and materials. Extend children’s learning by asking questions or making suggestions that stimulate their thinking and in keeping with the Play and Exploration Curriculum.
  • Provide active and safe supervision of all children.
  • Facilitate the development of self esteem by expressing respect, acceptance and comfort for all children.
  • Welcome parents, and encourage a conversation about the child’s day.
  • Daily cleaning responsibilities.
  • Keep informed of current research and development in the child care profession.
  • Contribute thought and effort to improve the Center.

Pay: $15.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
