**Job Title**: Brighter Futures Program Worker
**Salary**: $43,855.06 - $53,252.58 - $62,650.09

**Contract**: Fulltime, Permanent
**Hours**: 4-day work week, Mon - Thurs (36 hrs)
**Location**: Ladysmith, BC

**About The Role**Reporting to the Community Manager, Brighter Futures Worker is the incumbent for the Brighter Futures Program, a community-based health promotion and ill-health prevention program that promotes health and prevents ill-health through learning-related activities that strive to increase awareness, change attitudes, build knowledge and enhance skills. The mandate of Brighter Futures Program is to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of First Nation children and families by improving the quality of, and access to culturally sensitive wellness services at the community level to help create healthy family and community environments in which children and all community members can thrive. Services that are provided include community mental health, child development, injury prevention, solvent abuse, parenting skills, healthy babies, health promotions, program coordination, cultural awareness and advocacy and referral.

**Qualifications**
- Related 2-year diploma or degree
- Must be living a lifestyle free of addictions for a minimum of three years
- Must have a personal sel0care or holistic wellness plan
- Must undergo a satisfactory reference check and a criminal records review and police record check.
- Must possess a valid BC Driver's License and may be required to use own vehicle (with appropriate insurance) for work purposes.
- Experience working or linking with First Nations communities or other Aboriginal communities.
- Have knowledge of and willingness to actively support traditional healing practices
- Fluency or comprehension of the Hulqui'minum language would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in the community and accept supervision
- Must have demonstrated ability to work with others
- Excellent computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook

**Total Compensation**
As a member of the team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits, including:

The Salary Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
