**Job Summary**
We are a small, client-focused accounting firm that prides itself on providing personalized, high-quality financial services. We work with a diverse range of small businesses and individuals to manage their bookkeeping, taxes, and financial reporting. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our close-knit team and help our clients maintain accurate financial records.

**Duties**
- Manage daily bookkeeping for a variety of clients, including posting transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining general ledgers
- Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss reports, and balance sheets.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-ups
- Prepare and submit payroll for clients, ensuring compliance with tax and labour laws
- Prepare GST and PST returns for clients, ensuring timely submission.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping system setups and troubleshooting
- Prepare for client monthly meetings, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Communicate directly with clients to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide financial guidance
- Assist in tax preparation and coordination with accountants for year-end filings
- Stay up to date on bookkeeping best practices, software, and relevant regulations

**Experience**
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accounting assistant, or in a similar role, preferably in an accounting firm environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with payroll processing and understanding of payroll taxes is a plus
- Experience in a small-business or client-facing environment is a plus

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- QuickBooks: 2 years (required)
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (required)
