**OVERVIEW**
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- University Degree or Diploma in a natural resource related field (environmental science, land reclamation, forestry, biology, ecology, geology, or environmental engineering) is preferred
- Minimum 1 year of field experience
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Excellent statistical analysis skills
- Ability to solve problems and innovate
- Basic skills in geographic information systems (GIS)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Physically capable of completing field work in urban, rural and remote settings
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Willingness to work in the field for extended periods of time and willingness to travel as required
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform site visits, field surveys, sample collection, and data entry
- Support data analysis and writing of technical and scientific reports
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant local, provincial, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Collaborate with team members including biologists, environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers
- Implement and promote Vertex’s and our client’s safety program
