Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking an Assessment and Evaluation Consultant (Regular/Full Time) to focus on the development and implementation of provincial guidelines related to classroom and system-level assessment and evaluation practices and policies within the Learning and Outcomes Branch. Improving educational outcomes, supporting students and families and preparing Manitoba’s children for the careers and challenges of the future is a key department objective towards Growing Our Economy. Qualifications:
Essential:

- Extensive experience leading development, implementation and/or coordination of student assessment and evaluation at a division or system level reflecting current research in methodologies and design.
- Experience providing analysis and recommendations at a school or divisional or provincial level to support key priorities and goals.
- Demonstrated experience ensuring alignment within and across policy standards and/or guidelines to enhance system cohesion and implementation related to student assessment, evaluation and reporting.
- Experience leading diverse work groups and project teams to achieve milestones, deliverables and results.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal communication, including presentation and facilitation skills to various stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to create and edit various documents with a high degree of accuracy for a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to achieve.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.

Desired:

- Experience implementing the principles of reconciliation and advancing equity.

**Duties**:

- Lead development, alignment and renewal of provincial student assessment and evaluation policies and guidelines that reflect current priorities and research.
- Provide system-level support, coordination and leadership for provincial implementation of new and renewed assessment, evaluation and reporting policies, guidelines and resources.
- Participate in the cyclic refinement of provincial curriculum and curriculum implementation resources to support ongoing implementation of Manitoba’s Framework for Learning.
- As directed, represent the department on committees and projects that are within the mandate of the department, division and branch.
- As directed, represent the branch when collaborating and consulting with other branches of Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning and with other departments and organizations.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders including pre-Kindergarten and post-secondary partners.
- Prepare Ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, letters, and responses to the external stakeholders.
